Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) uses magnets, radio waves and computers to create extremely detailed pictures of “images” of your internal organs and structures. Because MRI lets your doctor see inside your body from any angle with great clarity, it provides a wealth of diagnostic information more quickly and easily than previous tests and exploratory surgeries.
It assists in diagnosis of a wide range of conditions, including heart and vascular diseases; stroke, abdominal and brain disorders; and common problems in the knee and shoulder.
Bayou Bend Health System provides a more comfortable MRI experience for our patients with the cutting-edge GE Healthcare SIGNA Voyager 1.5T wide bore MRI scanner.
The SIGNA Voyager scanner features a wide bore configuration of 27 inches, a table weight limit of 550 pounds, and adaptive AIR Coils to help accommodate a broader range of body types and clinical needs, improving comfort for patients. The system’s intelligent imaging software improves signal-to-noise (SNR) and image sharpness while enabling shorter scan times. Additionally, the SIGNA Voyager is now conveniently located inside the hospital’s Radiology department. Click here to learn more about the SIGNA Voyager's exam capabilities.
