Jacob Leonard, MD

General Surgery

Bayou Bend Health Systems is proud to introduce its new General Surgeon, Dr. Jacob Leonard. He completed his undergraduate work at the University of Louisiana at Monroe and earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Minor in Chemistry in 2012 with many academic honors. Dr. Leonard attended medical school at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA from 2013-2017, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society, recognizing his high educational achievement and commitment to serving others. He then continued his training at LSU with his residency in General Surgery from 2017-2022. While completing his residency, Dr. Leonard developed an interest in the ‘bread-and-butter’ type of General Surgery practice. He enjoys scopes, hernia repairs, and gallbladder removals.

Dr. Leonard is a lifelong Louisiana resident from Sarepta, LA. He knows the Louisiana area very well and has a knack for outdoor activities. He enjoys his roots and is looking forward to giving back to the community.
