Laboratory

The Bayou Bend Health System Laboratory works to meet all of the diverse needs of our patients in a manner that is consistent with our Mission Statement. The Laboratory is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide physicians with accurate, reliable data to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of our patients.

Our Laboratory staff combines a multitude of experience with the latest technology to insure the highest quality possible in the shortest amount of time. Our laboratory is accredited by these separate agencies:

• The Joint Commission as recognized by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)

• The Louisiana State Department of Health

These agencies continuously inspect and survey our laboratory to guarantee our laboratory methods are accurate and our laboratory staff is proficient so that all patient results are reliable.

The Bayou Bend Health System Laboratory handles on an average 7,500 tests monthly. Their expertise supports all areas of the hospital: emergency room, surgery, obstetrics, intensive care unit, medical/surgical floor, Transitional Care Bed program, and daily outpatient services.
